Shee Reevagh, the Dappled Fairy Mound tops a drumlin just behing Ballyrush Church near Castlebaldwin. The mound may be a cairn, and is part of the Lough Arrow and Bricklieve Mountain group of Monuments, which covers a large area of south Sligo. The mound is wild and scrub covered, as you can see from the image above, a real fairy mound. There are five ringforts around the hill.

The large unopened mound of Shee Reevagh behind Ballyrush Church.

The great cairn of Heapstown lies just east of here, across the River Uinshin. There is a fine view of the sites in the Bricklieve Mountains, which includes the Carrowkeel monuments from Shee Reevagh. I recently noted that Nephin Mor, the biggest mountain in Mayo, peeps over a drumlin north west of Shee Reevagh, and has the appearance of another cairn - another interesting piece of neolithic design/surveying!

The Lough Arrow region. Shee Reevagh is situated just across the river Uinshin to the west of Heapstown cairn at the north end of the lake.
